Eh. I finally broke down and bought this. Unfortunately I ordered it right before I used mod podge around my nails in desperation. It worked awesome! You might not be able to peel it all off in one piece, but who cares? I received the latex a day later. It protects your skin, yes. But it also starts to peel up before you're done with your nails. I tried on an entire hand, no lotion or anything odd that could've made it peel up before I was ready. One actually got stuck to the sponge I was using and came right off. So if you insist (again...why?) that the barrier comes off in one perfect piece, go for it! Otherwise I absolutely recommend using mod podge or Elmer's glue which works just as well, if not better than this. And it's way cheaper.
