I was hoping to improve my Video Tutorials, so I bought this digital recorder which is supposed to improve my Voice Recording by eliminating noise. Upon testing, it has no form of Noise Cancellation. ONLY Noise FILTERS. Which doesn't work either. Check my VIDEO REVIEW. First part showing how I recorded the audio, Second is listening to the Recorded Audio Samples (recording from mobile phone versus recording from Sony Digital Recorder). I TESTED ALL MODES, Voice Memo is the best option with Range set to Lowest (it will pick up more noise if you set Range to Far), I also turned on NCF(Noise Cut) or LCF(Low Cut) noise filters, but even with all these settings turned on, you will still need an editing tool to remove the noise afterwards.. The noise in my room is even louder from this recorder compared to how the noise actually sounds in real life. Noise was coming from an Electric Fan.. not the wind from the fan, but a humm from a Fan Blades.. yes this thing picks it up from 7 feet away. So this device is VERY SENSITIVE which is good. If you are in a sound proof room without any type of Air Conditioning. Else this thing will pick up noise no matter what. Sony made a Cheap alternative but isn't anywhere near close to their expensive Recorders quality. I compared this to my cheap 60 Dollar Mobile Phone (Xiaomi Redmi 5A) and that thing cancels out noise completely. AS YOU CAN SEE in my VIDEO REVIEW. Go buy a mobile phone instead of wasting money on this one. The sound quality is better and way more convenient (easier to handle / send / transfer files). There's no benefit at all in using / buying this Sony Recorder.
