FAKE. DO NOT BUY.
All right so I have quite a rant about this. I have not been a very avid Shea Moisture user as I just this year decided to embrace my natural curls. The first product I ever tried by Shea Moisture was their Raw Shea Butter Masque with Sea Kelp and Argan Oil - the same line as this conditioner. I bought that from Walmart and loved the scent, I loved the moisture it gave to my hair, so naturally, I wanted to try the whole line out. I came across this on Amazon and looked at the retailer. It used to say that it was from Amazon themselves at the time that I purchased. There was no third party seller in which though I was skeptical (I should've trusted my gut) I still bought it because I trust Amazon. I ended up buying the shampoo and two of this conditioner, both retailed by Amazon. It arrived and I was excited until it didn't seem to be a real Shea Moisture product. The label looked too well done and the conditioner was overly white for a company that uses all natural and organic ingredients. I still tried it and it was then that I grew more to know that it was not good for my hair. The shampoo dried up my curls, and the conditioner although gave good slip, once washed away, gave my hair that squeaky clean feeling which is a big no for naturals. I still did not want to believe that it was fake and just decided to believe that the line, in general, was not good. I tried returning it but they were not eligible for return. I stuck them in my closet and moved on to the next product to experiment on. Now at that point, I was not 100% sure that it was fake. Two months later (this morning) I went to Walmart and decided to peek at the Shea Moisture products they had in stock. They never usually have a full line so I was delighted to see that they had the shampoo and conditioner. I went ahead and bought it because I went to Shea Moisture's website and found their official retailers one of which was Walmart. I gave it another chance and was hoping that it would be different. When I got home I compared the ones I got from Amazon and Walmart. Everything about it was different. The color of the products, the size of the products, the labeling, the size of the fonts, the imprints on the bottles, etc. (Pictures attached to show the difference. The left is from Walmart, the right is from Amazon). I have not yet tried the ones from Walmart as I'm waiting for wash day but I will update this once I do. Moral of the story is, DO NOT BUY THIS. Go to Walmart or any of the other official retailers and save your wallet, your time, and your hair from frustration.
