Some of the features are smart and very promising (Familiar Faces plus motion tracking are ace), but this model removes a critical feature I loved (and needed) in previous models: the ability to "Rotate Image" on the captured video. Meaning: it was previously really simple to just stick some adhesive on a Nest Cam, mount it from the ceiling, and then just tell the app to rotate the image 180°. Easy peasy. Not anymore. Not only is this fella pretty heavy, it requires a separate, aftermarket tripod mount if you want to securely place it anyplace but, say, sitting on an undisturbed table or shelf. Much worse for me, even if you do install such a mount—and if your only convenient location is on a ceiling (thus producing an "upside down" image)—this model will *not* let you flip the image captured via software. Yuck. I hope Nest adds this feature back in a future firmware or app update, but, for now at least, it's useless to me. Like I say, a neat and very promising product, but it's a bummer that their newest, top-of-the-line-est camera is less flexible in usage than the DropCam I bought three years ago.
