Bought this light almost exactly 1 year ago for my daughter to read in bed with. Up until this week, we've been very happy with the light. The charging cord is absolute crap, and has been borderline falling apart for months, but was still doing it's job of charging when needed- so, not a deal breaker for me. What IS a deal breaker is that this morning my daughter brought me her light and was upset that someone had broken it. Upon closer inspection, the battery pack inside had expanded to the point where it busted the plastic casing. I'm no scientist, but that seems dangerous to me. Especially considering this is something that is less than a foot away from my daughter's head when in use. It should be noted that this light wasn't being handled in a crazy manner. Other than when it needed to be charged, it has sat clipped to my daughter's bed behind where her pillow is. Not in direct sunlight or heat or cold. Our household has bought a few of these types of lights over the years, and this has never happened before. While I'm sure no one is expecting a life time of use out of them, I do believe it's reasonable to expect; A. more than 1 year of use, and B. the battery to not explode. Just wanted to give all of you a heads up.
