I purchased in GPO boombox about 3 or 4 weeks ago says it has a lithium ion battery its not its a nickel metal hydride battery and it didn't hold a charge for longer than 24 hours. It doesn't put out that much sound it's kind of more of a novelty item as opposed to a serious old school style boombox Lacks Power lacks a lot of the features such as recording level a decent set of Vu meters would be nice the ones that are on the unit or kind of play school Romper Room like. There's no type of noise reduction overall the unit feels kind of cheap but if you want something that looks like an old school Boombox this should fit the bill just wish it had a few more features a little better design and more power I also don't like the way the tweeters look the outline of the Tweeter shows through the grill and it looks not so aesthetically pleasing. On the good side well it does look like an old radio kind of also the tuner was kind of strange on it just didn't feel like a traditional tuner if you record or try to make a cassette on this unit it had the lows and the mid range but was lacking the higher-end I don't know what that was about. But I do know if you try to record a tape on this thing it does come out good and loud but it lacks the high-fidelity high-end. And let's see the only other thing the amount of sound it puts out and features but like I said overall it does look good. and it is portable so I have to give it that I give it one star for looking like something from the 80s kind of but low amounts of volume lacking so many different features such as noise reduction or recording level a decent set of Vu meters and maybe a lot of this would have been overlooked if it just put out more sound but I'm sure they were trying to give it some type of battery life so I do understand where they're coming from but it just lacks a lot of things that could have made it a much better experience in my opinion. In my opinion I think maybe after this unit ages a little when the price gets down to maybe $100 it would definitely be worth the price just not worth the price at $260.
