Chroma Keyboard Not That Impressive
Pro's:
I had no dead LEDs out of the box;
Adequately heavy to prevent sliding on my glass desk (basically it's a current Blackwidow Ultimate with RGB LEDs and a RGB lighting controller system;
Non-glossy (I avoid glossy PC peripherals like the plague);
Con's:
Razer support takes a while to respond;
Lock status lights are very dim and uses a plain poor yellow shade of white, nothing like what's shown in the ad's -- they are very difficult to distinguish, no less noticeable and I'm wondering if it's a defect or not -- I couldn't just side glance the keyboard to tell if the CAPS lock was on but rather inspect it and a vertical angle (yes it fades as you lean back in your chair);
'+' and 'Enter' keys on the keypad were not installed correctly; Limited functionality of RGB lighting via software so far. There's only preset modes and you can't control the speed at which the colors alternate which bugs me for the psychedelic wave preset; you can't create custom behavior for the lighting, yet;
Other notes:
When I took it out of the box I was astonished that the '+' and 'Enter' keys almost fell off the keyboard. I almost thought that the keys had been broken before I received the keyboard. It wasn't that hard to fix and the latching mech. was just like any other normal keyboard -- except that this gave me an opportunity to check the hinges holding the key caps down; they're a rectangular bracket made very thin plastic. Well thin plastic brackets vs. the metal hinge leads me to believe that the key caps might not last long.
