I bought this oven in December of 2017. I was never able to turn it off manually by turning the timer knob (as you would expect) and always had to let the timer run out. The last time I tried to turn the knob to lessen the time, it melted inside and fell apart. I started using pliers to turn it on. Next I noticed that the plug into the wall outlet was burning hot - hot enough that I had to use a dishtowel to unplug it. I'm frustrated, as I get no response from seller and I am definitely afraid to use it. UPDATE 7/2020: I had to send it back to Cuisinart (Conair) and they sent me a new one. Everything was fine until a week ago and the replacement oven just stopped working. Luckily it is still under warranty so I guess this one will have to be shipped back as well. :-/ Update 11/2021 well the SECOND replacement oven they sent to me died yesterday. So this makes three defective ovens including my initial purchase. Now it is out of warranty and I guess I’m out of luck. Before anybody thinks that I abused this product… There are only two of us in the house and I am the only cook. While it’s true that I use this oven every single day, I do take good care of it and don’t abuse it in any way. I am careful not to turn the knobs too far or the wrong way, but that didn’t help. Again the cook style selection knob stopped turning and the power cut out. I’m very frustrated because I really like this oven otherwise, but I can’t risk getting a fourth when they only last a year or so. Very disappointed in Cuisinart, surely I can’t be the only one!
