Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I purchased this headphone about two months ago and was about to give it a glowing 5-star review yesterday...and after what happened today, I'm glad I didn't. What would have led to the 5-star review: Fits perfectly on my ear and the battery easily lasts throughout an entire workday. It's especially useful at work, being able to keep one ear open so I can hear what's going on around me. Yesterday, in fact, I decided to try it out with an afternoon run, since my BT earbuds are having issues at the moment. I wasn't expecting it to stay on my ear like it does during normal activities at work, but it actually did! Throughout 3.5 miles of running, it didn't budge. And the sound quality was perfectly fine for both in work and out on a run. What leads to the 1-star review: I wanted to charge it up today in case I needed to use it for another run today and I wasn't sure where the battery level was at, so I plugged it in to the usual USB port that I've used for charging it for the past two months. Flash forward to about an hour later where I notice that the headphone has actually started to MELT at the charging port. The USB cable is basically fused to the headphone and it's, unsurprisingly, dead. I don't lightly give one-star reviews, but in this case, where the product actually MELTED, it's unavoidable. $17 for two months of intermittent use? Not a great look. Which is a shame, because before it decided to try and transform into a more liquid state, I thought it was a great value! And of course, I'm just about a month past my return window, so unless Amazon or the manufacturer reaches out to me, I'm gathering that I'm out of luck on getting any recompense for this order.
