I LOVED this blanket when i got it. Since getting one as a Xmas gift I've loved electric blankets and this one was the best ever. It's very soft and more flexible than a traditional electric blanket. It worked well for about 11 months. I've never had a problem with Biddeford breaking unlike Sunbeam. At the end it wouldn't heat up unless I unplugged then replugged the cord at the base of the blanket. Annoying but the there was no piling since it's microfiber and that's the only reason I replaced my old Biddeford blankets. 11 months old the plug at the base of the blanket caught fire. Luckily I was there when it happened and the plug was raised off the ground and not in contact with anything. I reacted by blowing it out and it reignited. I repeated blowing it out 3x before I could turn it off. Multiple emails to Biddeford (pictures of the burnt cord included) were never returned. I also purchased a second blanket for my husband before there were any problems with the old one. A week or two before the other one caught fire (and the blanket being less than 2 months old) I stepped on a portion of it that was on the floor and felt a shock go through my leg. I checked my foot and had a 1" black barb from the blanket embedded into my big toe. It was easy to remove but I will never purchase another Biddeford blanket.
