Disturbing!
**Spoilers**
" “No, absolutely not,” comes my panted reply, hands still trying to cover my body. “No no no.” But Robert won’t take no as an answer. He raises his fist, that massive palm high above"
The above excerpt should explain it all, but here goes. Anna and Ann-Marie are sisters. Anna is older, responsible. Ann-Marie is snotty and promiscuous.Chance and Robert are brothers and twenty years apart. Robert is the eldest.
Ann-Marie and Chance meet and become engaged after only knowing each other for one day. Robert, thinking she is after the family money, mistakenly kidnaps Anna. But his goal is never made clear as to why he actually kidnapps her.
He keeps her in a remote cabin for a month. During this time he abuses her sexually, mentally and emotionally.
It almost seems like Anna has Stockholm Syndrome. They fall into a very false sense of a normal life while at the cabin.
Towards the end, things got even more confusing. Robert brings Ann-Marie to the cabin to make Anna believe that they are together because she and Chance broke up. Anna runs away but he finds her six months later.
OKAY. I didn't like it! At all! It's disturbing and I felt grossed out. I finished it only because I was hoping for some redeeming qualities...but I found none. I can't understand where all the positive reviews come from! It's not romantic or even erotic. It's just disturbing.
