Honest Week 1 Review of Product
WEEK 1 - I purchased this product from EFL and have now taken it for a week. During this time I have been involved in the reviews that have been posted regarding because I have had concerns about the product. I have also taken the time to speak with the CEO of EFL and let him know that I would give an honest evaluation of the product and would change my review if my experience changes. In order to give full disclosure, I did include the companies CEO response to me under Scott W. review in the comments section. As I expressed to him, I'm not interested in hurting his company but I am interested in receiving the product as described and that I paid for. With a week of experience under my belt I feel I have enough information to start conveying my experience.
First, I think it is important to know my lifestyle as it would relate to how this product works. I am a healthy individual who eats a clean diet and exercises five days a week. I take my health pretty seriously but I do not lean too far towards health that I don't enjoy my life (not a health addict). I live a life of moderation. In addition, I spend a considerable amount of time reading about health, nutrition and supplementation. With regards to my taking the EFL product, I have followed the instructions of two capsules daily 1/2 hour before meal (being breakfast and lunch).
I too have opened two of the capsules and will report that the taste is not as described by numerous websites providing information about Green Coffee Bean Extract. In addition, I have checked with several coffee companies that provide raw green coffee beans and their description of the raw product taste is bitter. As others have described, the product has a slightly sweet but powdery chocolate flavor.
In the week that I have taken this product I have not experienced any weight loss. I will continue to take this product for another week to see if anything changes and will report my experience and change my rating if necessary.
WEEK 2 UPDATE - I have completed the second week of the Maxx Green Coffee Bean Extract and unfortunately I have not experienced anything different from the first week. No weight loss. I need to stay with my original rating.
I did purchase Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract by Pure Health and will start taking product today to see if there is any comparable difference between the two products results. I will post an update in a week. In comparing the two products, I also broke open one of Pure Health's capsules and the taste between the two products were completely different. Pure Health's content color was similar to Maxx's but the taste had a bitter note hitting your tongue and the after taste did not have a similar flavor.
Honestly, I have been reading all of the reviews on this product and what is concerning to me is this. Half are 5 stars and half are 1 star. It seems highly unlikely that it would be one or the other with not much in between? Something is off.
WEEK 3 UPDATE - OK. Well, as I had mentioned in my previous post, I did purchase Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract by Pure Health last week and did take it through today. This week has been a little less stable diet wise and I haven't eaten as healthy as I usually do. With that, I actually did lose 2 lbs. I am going to take one more week and report back on whether there is a consistent loss, additional loss or whether I returned to normal weight.
WEEK 4 FINAL UPDATE - I continued to take the Pure Green Coffee Bean Extract by Pure Health. In total between the two weeks I have lost 3.5 lbs. Even under non-ideal eating and exercising conditions. This is a different experience than while on Maxx.
Before closing, I would like to add one bit of additional information. The study that was completed by the University of Scranton Pennsylvania over the 22 week period using 16 substantially overweight subjects in their early to mid 20's was a randomized double blind cross over study where each patient was administered either 700mg, 1050mg or a placebo for a six week period of time (within the 22 week period). The information provided above by EFL states that the the study participants lost an average of .77 lbs per week which is not accurate. While the participants were on the placebo they lost no weight and substantially more weight while on the 1050mg, where the average was 1.5 - 2 lbs. Here is the link to an excerpt of the study. The same link I provided to the CEO of EFL.
