If ConcenTrace is made up of minerals, why is it a 3 pH?
My goal for the past 2 months has been to drink a gallon of clean mineralized high pH water every day. I had been using ConcenTrace in my reverse osmosis water to achieve that end until one day I decided to do an experiment. While other reviewers had stated that ConcenTrace increases water pH, I wondered what is the actual pH of the product and how does it affect my water? (Especially since I was planning to buy this on a regular basis.) So I got out my test strips, (bought on Amazon of course) poured directly, and measured a whopping 3 pH! That is 1,000 times more acidic than the actual R.O. water that I was putting it into! So I emailed the folks at TraceMinerals and asked them this question: “With main ingredients, such as magnesium and potassium (VERY alkaline), what is in this product that is so acidic as to change the pH to 3?” Curiously, I got no answer. I emailed them a second time, still no answer. Even more curious yet is that if you watch their video on their Facebook page entitled “pH Test Demonstration-Segment 3” you will see them do a failed experiment trying to turn acidic water into alkaline with ConcenTrace. It clearly fails the first time at the 7:58 mark but you can also see the solution turn yellow (acid) during a second try when they put the test vial back on the table at the 8:20 to 8:30 mark. So I’m now wondering… if they mislead about the pH, what else might they be misleading about? And what is causing the acid level to spike? If the main ingredients in ConcenTrace are claimed on the label to be alkaline minerals, what is actually in this product that would change it to be so extremely acidic? At this point I have no idea. I will continue to drink my gallon of water a day, but will not be adding ConcenTrace for my mineral supplementation. I’ll update my review if they ever get back to me with a valid answer.
