Buyer Beware--coverage does not take effect when there is a manufacturer's warranty
This protection plan does not take effect until after the manufacturer's warranty has expired. This is true even if the manufacturer's warranty is quite limited. The product blub in Amazon mislead me. It says: "Don't Repair It. Just Replace It! Get a Canopy Replacement Plan...Coverage includes Free Replacement, and No Deductibles". As others have noted, the actual policy is not available for review until after purchase. This is what my policy actually says: "Except for power surge and battery replacement for cameras and camcorders and food loss for refrigerators and freezers which begins on the date you purchase your covered product; all other coverage begins upon expiration of the manufacturer’s warranty."
My microwave died two months after purchase. I will have to pay to ship it to a repair shop, or throw it out and replace it on my nickel. Not sure which I will do yet. I *will* try to cancel this so called protection plan.
