I bought three of these boxes for my grandchildren although I was concerned by some reviews suggesting that the ballerina mechanism was faulty. One of my grandchildren has wanted a music box for a long time and kept reminding me so I thought I'd give her one and I thought I'd better buy one for her sisters too. I gave my grandchildren the boxes the day before I left for overseas and of course, what happened was the child who really wanted a music box received the one with a ballerina that didn't work. She was in tears until her father (an engineer) managed to fix it. However, I doubt that the mechanism will last so I wouldn't recommend these boxes. I would have thought that, given the adverse feedback about the mechanism, the company would have taken action to fix the problem.
