Emergency Room nurse, mislead and misinformed
I don’t know where to begin. I’ve purchased these goggles before. Let me first state where the issues lie. 1: I removed them from the box and the inner rubber was off, it’s not soft and it’s not connected to the plastic. 2: there are no vents to help with fogging. 3: my other UVEX Brand have the logo on the goggle, the side. 4: they’re not comfortable at all 5: the plastic digs into my head on my nose, forehead, chin and bilateral orbits. 6: I let my colleagues try them and they confirmed my complaints and added to them. The plastic of the entire mask digs into your face. Sweat builds up inside and has nowhere to drain so it runs out on your face. Purchased anti-fog spray. That didn’t stop the fog. Used soap. No good. Used spit. No good. But in the real brand UVEX, all fog anecdotes worked just fine. The ONLY thing that 5 ER Registered Nurses could agree on (besides being sold a knockoff) was that these goggles are definitely lighter and cheaper than the ones I have purchased previously. These ones that were sold to me here are no good. Yes, I’m an ER Nurse and battling this damn Covid-19 virus and risking my life every shift (20 days straight/16 hours a day). For the love of God and all things holy.... please please please, STOP STOP STOP SELLING THESE. This is where I get serious. These goggles are so crappy, my Employee Health Service (EHS) won’t approve these to be worn. To give you an idea, how bad these goggles are: I’m able to wear a bandana, wet with sterile water and gauze, in place of an N95 mask, but am NOT allowed to wear these goggles. Think about that for a moment. I work on the front lines of this pandemic and my job has “ZERO F$&&s” to give about us, yet they said “these goggles are not approved. I wouldn’t normally go out of my way to post this, but now this pisses me off. I purchased goggles for myself and my colleagues during this pandemic, so that we could be safe during this hectic time. I purchased goggles that are supposed to “ASSIST AND HELP PROTECT” myself and my colleagues. Now I’m starting to realize that people are ONLY concerned with a sale and a profit. These goggles, were found in bulk for $4–6 a pair. They’re made to “trick” or “misguide” the purchaser. They are photographed in a way to highlight areas that don’t give away how terrible they are made. If I could post photos, I would. I don’t even want to return these goggles, because if I return them, they could end up in someone else’s stock, they could use them and then not get the protection they’re entitled to. This makes me angry. I’m going to write to Amazon and when this is all over and behind us, I will take appropriate steps to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Wanna know what the write thing is: SELL WHAT YOU SAY YOURE SELLING Second thing you should do: IS DONATE 100 of the real goggles to a hospital that I work in. All of us in the emergency room are buying equipment with our own money so that we are protecting ourself from you and your family so that we can help save them. We need to be able to quickly and efficiently jump from patient to patient and by selling shoddy equipment, you’re taking time out of an area of improvement and time is sometimes the one thing we need more of so we can save you or your family members. Be mindful when you sell equipment. When it’s crap, you risk selling it to your neighbor, who will then be the one trying to save your life, but because your equipment didn’t or doesn’t function, you or your family may die. That’s my reality. That’s why this pisses me off and makes me angry. All for a few bucks. I’m saddened by this. Selling me equipment that’s hard to get already, but selling me bad equipment is really not a kind thing and I hope you realize that this has dire implications for some people. Specifically in this climate. I really can’t believe this is still happening, 3 months into it. Wtf. When the healthcare system gets sick and nobody is there for you, just remember, all of these variables come into play.
