I purchased this so my cat, who is about 10 pounds, could travel with me via air with the carrier placed under the seat in front me. I used this carrier for one round trip flight in October without incident. I used it again in January -- the cat escaped by separating the zippers and got all the way to first class from the waaaay back of the plane before a flight attendant caught her. On the return trip, she got out again, this time via a rip she'd made in the mesh, but I was able to catch her after she'd only gotten about five aisles away. I'll be purchasing a new carrier before I travel with her again.
