Bye Bye Rowenta
This was the 4th Rowenta Pro steam iron that I have purchased. Every one of them developed the same problem over the years, they leaked. I loved how well they all performed before they began leaking, but I use steam very often so the leaking was a problem. For the price I paid for them I expected them to last a longer time than they did. I usually get about 3-5 years of use before the leaking starts. They all still work fine on the dry setting, but I NEED STEAM! I was careful not to ever drop the last one I bought and handled it very carefully, but that still did not make a difference, it still leaked after a few years of light use. While on vacation I got to sample other irons at several 5 star hotels and found out that there were Irons comparable to Rowenta for a much lower price. I now own a Sunbeam Turbo Steam Master that I purchased at Costco and so far, it works great, has a 12’ cord plus the same or more features as the Rowenta. It also has many steam vents like Rowenta, and the price was less than half the price of the Rowenta. And best of all, no leaks. I'll have to see how long this one lasts, but even if it lasts only as long as the Rowenta, I only paid half as much. I will never buy another Rowenta. I feel that I have wasted hundreds of dollars and did not get what I paid for. To compare steam vents, the left picture with the star is the Rowenta and the right picture is the Sunbeam. The steam vents were very important to me and the Sunbeam met my needs. Bye Bye Rowenta!
