It's like the US Constitution... only different.
This text book should stay on the shelves and rot. Don't even consider buying it to educate your children if you're intested in historical facts. This is a high school AP History text book and it can't even get the Bill of Rights correct? Not only is it a poor paraphrase of the 2nd amendment, its an outright lie. The text book says "Second amendment: the people have the right to keep an bear arms in a state militia" This implies that the amendment defines the rights of the people in what they may keep and bear arms for, and then also implies that it is only for the purpose of a state militia. The actual second amendment says "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This is clearly worded as a limit placed on government regarding the infringement of the people's natural, God-given right, to bear arms. I'd give it zero stars, but evidently I had to give at least one to write this review.
