AMAZON'S EPIC FAIL = SYNCHRONY BANK
When I first was granted the Amazon Store Card it was an awesome card that helped me be better prepared for my college courses. As a visually disadvantaged student, my college disability services generously puts my textbooks into pdf format and onto a flash drive so I can enlarge my textbook assignments. This means I must have all textbooks into the disability office no less than 6 weeks in advance which is way before my financial aid is released. With the Amazon Store Card I would order my textbooks in advance and make any minimum payments. When financial aid came in I would turn around and pay off the card. When SYNCHRONY Bank took over, I was notified that my Amazon Store Card account was closed. At that time the card was paid in full. I OWED NOTHING!! I griped to Amazon via email and was given information on how to contact Synchrony with all my details. I called Synchrony as instructed. 1) It took a while to get through circular voicemail to reach an actual person. 2) explained my situation in detail INCLUDING that Amazon heard what I was explaining to them and advised me to call them (Synchrony). 3) My gut dropped when the rep couldn't help me and said they were going to forward me to someone who could help. (GREAT, THE FORWARDING GAME). 4) Filled with hate for Synchrony when the next person who answered announced "Amazon Customer Service". Right back to where I started. As hugely as this is inconvenient in preparing for upcoming semesters and sometimes without a textbook after the semester starts, I knew that as long as Synchrony was behind the Amazon Store Card, I wanted nothing to do with it. This has greatly diminished my purchases on Amazon and I am sure I am not the only one.
