I had high hopes for this pillow. I loved that it was actually available in king size & had cooling layers on both sides. Since it was a very heavy pillow, I really expected to get the firm support I needed for side sleeping. Unfortunately, I was wrong. This pillow may be ideal for sleeping on your back (I don't know, I can't sleep that way) but, unless you are small & lightweight, there is no way to get any neck support when sleeping on your side. The Tempur foam material is simply too plush to provide this support. Part of the problem comes from the basic shape of the pillow. It is a traditionally shaped pillow where the edges taper down to a thin edge at the case zipper. When side sleeping, the thin amount of foam at the edge compresses down to virtually nothing & provides zero support. If the pillow had a full depth, square edge, like many foam pillows, it could be ideal for side sleepers. On the positive side, the cooling gel layers do work fairly well. When first laying down, there is a very noticable cooling sensation even with 1000 tc, cotton pillow cases. Although this feeling did not last the entire night, I can't say that the pillow ever felt hot. My search for a truly cool sleeping pillow with sufficient loft & firmness for side sleeping continues.
