I returned mine. The interior mechanism was plastic. I compared it to an authentic, same model 10883 bought from Mont Blanc around 2010. The confirmed authentic model has a metal interior twist mechanism. The metal interior also gives the pen more weight. This model is very light. A google search of videos will show you what the interior gold color metal twist mechanism looks like. You can check it out by unscrewing the tip that holds the pen clip after you open the pen and remove the ink cartridge. Also, the gold pen tip is glued on. The authentic one I compared it to is screwed on and removable. Also this pen is missing the “pix“ engraving on the underside of the clip, which is also on the confirmed authentic version. Now, it’s possible that the newest production runs from Mont Blanc have changed all this, but this model is clearly inferior to the same model previously sold by Mont Blanc. It feels noticeably inferior to the authentic pen. Fortunately, the return process was seamless.
