Do NOT buy this cup unless you can handle the taste and feel of plastic and/or chemicals as you drink. I never write bad reviews, but I feel that you must know the consequences of this purchase since there is no opportunity for a refund. I contacted the seller and basically she responded that she has never heard of complaints about a plastic/chemical taste/feel, but I do see other reviews describing the same issue so pay attention to the reviews. I have made many attempts to try to remove the plastic/chemical taste, but have not yet succeeded. I have washed the cup/straw in very hot soapy water 3 times. I have let the cup/straw soak on hot soapy water overnight. Out of desperation, I have run the cup/straw through the dishwasher 3 times. No luck!! It seems to be worse through the straw, but I haven't yet been able to completely remove the plastic feel left in my mouth even after i drink the water without the straw (the taste seems to be coming from the straw... the feel seems to be from the cup). In fact, the plastic coating in my mouth will last for hours after drinking water from the cup. I don't know how else to try to get rid of whatever is plaguing this cup. Also, I'm using filtered water in this cup so I don't believe there's anything in the water contributing since I can drink the same water from a regular glass without any issues. Any advice to work out the taste/feel? I do love the idea of this cup... it's a great quality design, feels sturdy, and does keep the water cold. I'd love to figure out how to make this work.
