We bought this space heater for our master bedroom. We were expecting the arrival of our daughter and knew our room would be too chilly for her (we live in an older home and our bedroom is not well heated). We used this product for 3 months (low heat setting of 65-67 degrees) and one night at around 3am I heard a sparking noise then smelled something (no signs previously). I immediately jumped from my bed and turned off the machine. We are lucky I am an incredibly light sleeper. The next morning my husband, who is also a contractor, inspected the outlet and the machine. The plug was melted, the outlet was melted (with the plug fused in) and our house almost caught entirely on fire. Had I been a heavier sleeper, my husband and I, our 3 month old baby and our 2.5 year old son would have died in a house fire. I have chills writing this. Please do NOT buy this product for the safety of your family. We are thinking of filing a lawsuit.
