Season 2 of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has to rank as the biggest disappointment since, well, Star Wars Phantom Menace. The writing just isn't funny, the pacing is off, - and worst of all - the show is a disjointed mess. Remember when Larry David stopped writing for Seinfeld? Or when Aaron Sorkin too a break from The West Wing? You saw the characters, but they didn't sound quite the same - as if zombies had inhabited their bodies and were mouthing unfunny dialogue? Well, unfortunately it's a similar situation. Same characters, poor writing, outlandish circumstances. You'll go on to just to make sure that episode one was some kind of aberration, but when you get half-way through episode two to the point when Mrs. Maisel's parents are dancing in Paris in front of Notre Dame to Louis Armstrong singing It's A Wonderful World.... ....well - don't waste your time. It really doesn't get any better. It only took two seasons, but Mrs. Maisel has jumped the shark.
