Only order this if you want your UPS guy to know you're burying stuff... Great product though!
Ok, let me first start off by saying this is an awesome product that deserves 5 stars! It looks and feels like a quality item and I'm excited to use it. Aside from the vault itself, it comes with a dessicant bag (moisture absorber) that's roughly 3in wide by 5in long, and a large VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) bag. This thing looks and feels like it's meant to battle the elements!
So why after all the ranting and raving I've done, do I give it 2 stars? Simple. The shipping method. They shipped this thing (directly from MTM) in a full color advertisement box w/ pictures and descriptions telling everyone (including the UPS guy) "HELLO! I'M BURYING GUNS, AMMO AND VALUABLES IN MY YARD SOMEWHERE! PLEASE COME AND DIG IT UP AND TAKE IT FROM MY LOONEY ASS!"
The first rule of OPSEC (operational security) is to be as discreet as possible with everything you do. MTM lacks the common sense gene telling them that they should be shipping these in a plain brown box; not a box with a Survivor Ammo Can Infomercial printed on it making the purchaser look like some kind of "doomsday prepper".
I'd certainly order this product again because of it's quality and pricing ($19.99 on 6/23/15). But I'm highly perturbed that they would ship it the way they did. The whole idea behind this product is for security and discreetness. They blew it when they shipped it.
If you decide to buy this product and it shows up like it did to my house (pic below, yes that's the box they shipped it in LOL!), please rate it below average. The company needs to know that they need to change their shipping method.
