So far, lots of great stuff and one unforgiveable flaw...
I loved this unit. It looked great. I love the metal knobs and the big burner. I like the LED indicator. I like the auto-igniter.
But then, about a week after use, the stainless steel GOT BURNT! The flames permanently stained the stainless steel on one of the big burners on the side. Bosch said that maybe I used a pot that was too big. I didn't, but even if I did, should the cooktop get burnt from its own flames???
Anyway, the Bosch guy came over and said it's a design flaw and nothing they could do. When we mentioned that there was nothing in the manual about the size of pots "allowed" to be used on each burner, he agreed and said he'd send us a new cooktop. That's the only reason I'm not giving this one star. If the other cooktop also "burns itself", I think it's an unacceptable solution to only be able to use small pots (according to the technician - REALLY small) on the outside burners.
Maybe the unit I got was flawed. Maybe the next one will be better. If so, I will amend my rating to 5 star as I love everything else about this cooktop.
UPDATE: The technician came by a week ago and replaced the burner surface - just the stainless steel. So far, using smaller pots, it's fine. After a few weeks, if it remains unblemished, I'm going to start using regular sized pots, which seem to be too big according to the technician. If it gets burned again, I'll probably ask them to give me a different model.
UPDATE 2: My second surface burned soon after I changed it. Had my second top replaced after the technician told me that Bosch had a fix for it. They replace the actual metal surface again and also changed a couple of the "nozzles?" through which the gas feeds the burner. I tested it, and it burnt the surface again within an hour!
