The small and medium TruSens Air Purifiers are HEPA "Type" filters, not an actually True HEPA filter. You have to purchase the Large unit to get a True HEPA filter that will remove VOCs. There are no industry standards for HEPA Type filters. TruSens is very misleading with their advertising regarding this issue and falsely mislead you into thinking you are getting a True HEPA filter in ALL their units. Look on their website and you will see the filter details. Also review the differences in a True HEPA filter vs a HEPA Type filter. The main differences between HEPA-type and True HEPA filter are the filtration efficiency. In general, HEPA-type filter has a 99% efficiency rate of capturing particles as small as 2 microns. True HEPA filter up the game with a better 99.97% efficiency rate at particles as small as 0.3 microns.
