no hope - Two lead characers are utterly unlikable
I did not like this book. In fact, I hated this book, I was disturbed and disgusted by this book. This is an independent author for a reason - because this book is not fit for printing it is so entirely inappropriate. (I am not weak of stomach or faint of heart - I do watch shows like Criminal Minds and other like shows so gruesome and disturbing within certain limits is not an issue.)
To start I did not find it to be a thriller at all. Furthermore, I did not find the two main characters, Nicole and Kent to be likeable or sympathetic leading characters. I found Kent to be mentally unbalanced, (which he was written as), and as such really I do not understand how Nicole could have any romantic interest in him. Nicole's character is like one of those weak friends who is always complaining about her terrible cruel boyfriend but then continues to be with him. At the end of the novel, her weak annoying character become even more dis-likeable by taking an action that makes her even more mentally unstable than Kent.
I do not know how there are so many high rating for this book, it was a terrible read and I unfortunately paid $5.99 for it, not the current $0.99 selling price. I have never given a one star rating, if I could though, I would give it 0 stars; it was that bad.
This book is not comparable to Patterson, Child or any other author who actually has a major publishing house backing them.
