I'm aware peelers are sharp & I take care to keep my fingers well away from the slicing blade, but that wasn't what cut me....the terribly bad cut I got was FROM THE HANDLE! I didn't notice the sharp edge around the bottom of the handle, never in my life have I encountered a kitchen gadget that had such a problem so I didn't bother to inspect it. I took it out of the box, washed it, then started to peel an apple with it & I believe it was on the third stroke that the end of the handle sliced the palm of my hand. Not super deep, but a 1/4 slice like a paper cut which is only a wee bit painful but very much a nuisance for a few days when it's in the palm of your hand (a Band-Aid doesn't work well in that area). I'd just suck it up & not complain about the product if it had been my fault due to clumsiness...but who would ever suspect the HANDLE of a kitchen gadget would have a dangerously sharp edge? Looking at it closely I now see that all around the bottom edge of the handle the metal is a raw edge & a bit sharp, I can run my fingernail around where the handle ends & the little loop thing at the end is inserted & it scrapes a gash into my nail. Will try to figure out how to post a pic to show others what to look out for.
