Not healthy for dogs...
While my dog seems to love the taste of this food, he (a 35lbs pointer-mix) gets horrible bumps all over his skin. At first, I thought it had basically all healthy ingredients, but then after doing research, and looking at the ingredients, I found the following that are not only disgusting but unhealthy for dogs as well. -- Especially if they have allergies to grains. This is what I found from veterinarians and google online: Do your own research, and if it's not true, blame the internet. All I know is my dog has been seriously suffering from bumps and itchy sores on his body, and he's been eating this. 1. It has chicken-meal. This, research says, is essentially ground up unhealthy chickens that have died, but used anyway. 2. Soy meal. This is a food filler that many dogs are allergic to. 3. Whole ground corn. This is a food filler that many dogs are allergic to. 4. Corn Gluten meal. This is a food filler that many dogs are allergic to. 5. Dicalcium Phosphate. This cannot absorb water and is virtually insoluble. It can cause calcification of soft tissue and research has shown it leads to kidney stones, as well.
