I have four units and, over time, I've had at least a dozen situations with the "catch" light blinking, but no rat inside. I did find a baby possum in it once, and threw it in the trash can. It was moving about the next morning! Ever so curious, I put one of my security cameras on them. I have now seen 4 rats enter (in the space of 2 nights), two different units, get zapped, go to sleep for a while, and re-appear and leave anywhere from 5 minutes to one hour later! Fresh batteries.
