Bought a Macbook Pro about two years ago. Was shocked to find that the MagSafe adapter cord starting fraying right at the point where it joined the power brick. I was even more shocked -- and became very angry -- when I went to the Apple store to read review after review of the same problem happening to other Apple owners. It is very apparent to me that the fraying of the cord is a very common problem. I wrote a very angry letter to Tim Cook. That letter got forwarded on to Apple Support. I got a phone call from them explaining how to take better care of the cord (how to properly wrap it), but no offer to compensate me for the $80 I had to spend on a replacement that has effected hundreds of other Apple users. So, the point I am making here is that there is a problem with these cords. They are not made strong enough to withstand normal usage. Apple is doing nothing to improve its manufacturing. Yes, these work perfectly. However, I would recommend wrapping some electrical tape at the point where the cord meets the brick just to prevent fraying issues.
