Night vision is mostly useless on this camera. Daytime the resolution and performance are awesome at 1920x1080 (HD) and 30 fps—super sharp and great color. At night, when the camera goes into infrared night vision mode, the frame rate drops to 4 fps which is useless because anyone walking through the frame looks like a ghost (unless I have a bunch of ghosts walking by my house at night—then I have a different problem). Even reducing the resolution down to 720p (1280x720) does not fix the frame rate—still at 4 FPS. I have other TrendNet cameras that do fine in the night with their infrared giving me at least 15 FPS which you can see what people look like no problem. If you are looking for a 24 hour security camera, this is not the camera for you. If you only have criminals that come by your house during the day, this camera will work great.
