I had posted a question asking how this product compares to the 3M stripe off wheel. I didn't get any good answers but I have since ordered 4 of these and I'm using them, along with one 3M wheel, to take off all the fancy decals from a travel trailer: a very large amount. I feel that I'm now qualified to answer my own question and post a comparison between the two products. I had hoped to save some money with these wheels, but unfortunately I got what I paid for. There are a number of differences. I started out rotating two new ABN wheels and one 3M wheel that was half used up. I'm rotating all three of them, to keep the temperatures down. Once the wheels heat up, they can burn and stain the fiberglass. All the wheels heat up, but when the ABN wheel heats up, it will start to smear, something that I didn't see with the 3M wheel. It's as if the rubber on the ABN wheel wants to melt, while the 3M wheel doesn't do this. Perhaps this product is synthetic rubber and 3M uses real rubber? The rubber on the 3M wheel is far superior. After doing more than half of the trailer, the two ABN wheels are just about used up, while the 3M wheel still has some meat on it. So - big difference in durability. The 3M wheel seems to last at least four times as long as the ABN wheels, offsetting any cost savings. The ABN wheel leaves a course yellow residue while the 3m wheel leaves a colorless dust. The shank on the ABN wheel is too thin for a drill chuck to get sufficient grip and sometimes it will spin in the chuck. 3M's spindle is at least twice as thick. Finally, I find it very strange that the rubber of the ABN wheel appears to be perfumed, or scented. In summary, the ABN wheel may be alright if you're using it to remove a single pinstripe from an older car, but if you have to do remove larger decals or will be using it more, the 3M product is superior and a better value.
