Supplied tape is not thermally conductive!
The "thermal tape" that is provided to fill in the large gap between the case and chips on the Raspberry Pi, is 3M Double Coated Tissue Tape 9448A and is not thermally conductive and should not be used for heat sync applications. According to 3M's website, "Double Coated Tissue Tape 9448A... is a medium-firm acrylic adhesive system featuring both high initial adhesion and good high temperature holding power... [it is suitable for things like] Nameplate bonding, Plastic film lamination/bonding, [and] Foam bonding". We purchased two of these cases and now have to figure out a way to make them work. We are not too happy about this :-(
