Too bad there isn't a zero stars option. They need to stop advertising this wheel for hedgehogs immediately. It is sad too because when I unboxed it I was stoked about its sleek design and uber quiet spin capabilities. I'm used to paying a high cost for the best hedgehog wheel on the market which is the Carolina storm bucket wheel. Since I was expecting babies I got the small wheel first to determine if I wanted to invest in the high cost of the larger wheels. I'm not going to speculate as to why this company decided to go the cheap rout and not make a solid piece for the wheel runner piece, but instead they use a flimsy plastic connector to hold a strip of flimsy plastic into a wheel shape. It creates a lump on the running space and holes in between the lump and anyone who has hedgehogs knows they have incredibly sensitive feet. Against my intuition I decided to let them try it anyway. I guess I hoped against hope that it wouldn't be a problem but most pet owners know there's nothing worse than the guilt that comes from making bad decisions that result in harm. I woke up to find a completely bloody wheel the very first day my baby boys left mom for their own cage. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't feel that bad about watching this company burn to the ground for promoting heavily to hedgehog owners. Seems to have great reviews for rats and such, but hedgehogs are not rats so it's my duty to inform people: DO NOT PURCHASE FOR HEDGEHOGS!!! FOR the love of hedgehogs, DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WHEEL!!! Did I use enough exclamation points? I doubt it.
