The shelves are not accurately shaped right triangles, so there is room left on the sides of the shelves in between the shower and the shelf. The shelves can be fastened tightly to the pole, but since the pole is in multiple pieces, the shelves just move from side to side from light touch. I took pictures to show how the shape of the shelves leaves a lot of space on each side.
