I recently returned from vacation where we frequently used our Bushnell 10X42 binoculars. While using them, I thought it would be great if we could take a picture of what we could see through the binoculars, so I saw this monocular as an Amazon deal and ordered it. It is advertised as 12X50; however, the magnification is less than the Bushnell 10X, and the lenses are smaller than the Bushnell 42mm. Also, the images are not near as sharp. Attempting to use my iPhone to take a picture was cumbersome, and the alignment between the phone and monocular was not very secure. In addition, I received a gift card offer with the monocular stating if I left a 5 star review and then sent the company an e-mail direct, I would get a $40 gift card. While I was tempted to keep the monocular and use the $40 gift card to cover its cost, I could not leave a 5 star review for this item, nor do I want to bypass the normal process for contacting Amazon sellers.
