I ordered this for my 14-year-old, 60-pound dog that is having trouble jumping into my new SUV. We started training in the house as suggested. After walking on it flat on the ground a few times we propped it up on an ottoman that she regularly sleeps on to test it out. The first try she slipped and fell off the side and the second try she got most of the way up then slid all the way back down to the bottom (leaving parts of her paw pads and nails behind.) I did read the reviews that suggested using carpet in place of the sandpaper but for such an expensive item I don't feel like I should have to make modifications. It was also pretty cumbersome to set up and takes up a lot of space in a vehicle. Not practical for this apartment dweller.
