Do Not Buy this shelf, and here is why: 1. The top shelf is not finished, 2. the middle shelf is only finished on one side, unlike all the other shelves that are finished on both sides. Here is what Sauder had to say about this, 1. no one is tall enough to see the top shelf. (Unless you are six feet or taller.) 2. that is how engineering wants it. (same for top shelf) I have bought numerous Sauder products, including these shelves in brown. In the brown bookshelf both the top and the middle is finished correctly. So what is the problem with the white? Maybe white laminate costs much more than the brown. Maybe the engineers are smart but lack common sense. Finally, the sides are not one long piece of wood. No, there are two halves, but when put together, one side is not connected and thus weaker. Needs those Cam Nuts on both sides not just one. Who would buy a shelf with an unfinished top? Well, I guess I did, but don't you.
