CONTAMINATED-DO NOT BUY!!! MY CAT ALMOST DIED!
I truly wish I had read the reviews prior to purchasing, but believed that is was actually Friskies cat food, the same I have fed my cats for 20 years, and my darling Carly, for 5 years. What a great deal, right?
Within hours after feeding her this food, specifically Mariner's Catch, my cat became violently ill, throwing up 3-4 times hourly over a 12 hour period. She is a healthy cat,. and I couldn't figure out what was suddenly wrong with her. We went the vet ER at 2:00 a.m.,, got her stabilized, and returned home. I couldn't go in with her, due to COVID-19, which was traumatic for Carly. The vet asked if she had gotten any new food, since she was otherwise healthy and they couldn't see anything wrong with her, but because I had been feeding Friskies for years, I didn't realize that THIS BOX OF FRISKIES sold by an unethical seller was to blame at that point, and said that she had no new food.
The following morning, following the vet's advice, I fed my cat the next can of cat food after she had water. She looked back at me after I put the food down, and initially refused to eat it. After some encouragement, she ate a small amount, and once again, became violently ill. Another trip to the vet, with X-rays and additional blood tests, determined that my cat had been given contaminated food as a result of this food sold by this unethical seller who has determined that my cat's health is not as important as profits.
I checked the lot number, #1157, shown to sell contaminated food, and have saved one can in case I have to prove that we bought this poison, but have thrown away the remaining food since I know this unethical seller will ultimately repackage it in the hopes of killing a pet if I were to return it.
Upon review of the previous reviews, it looks like Amazon has been notified of this for at least 6 months and many others have had cats who suffered the same fate. So, I would like to know, is this seller, Friskies, or Amazon going to be reimbursing me for over $700 in vet bills?
After 4 days, my cat is finally starting to recover from the effects of this unethical seller who chose to poison my pet by selling contaminated food for a profit. I usually don't review sellers, and especially usually do not provide negative reviews, but I want to make sure I warn the next person who may choose to purchase this food. Please, please, please, do not go through what I have gone through this week. I truly thought I was going to lose my cat due to this poison. I will NEVER. NEVER, NEVER buy ANY Friskies canned cat food again. Please do not buy this product from this seller, you will truly regret it.
