I owned the smoker for two years and three weeks. The units temperature controller was not accurate the temp fluctuated from one use to the next. The thermometer on the outer door was off by as much as 30 degrees. While preparing to smoke a turkey for a Christmas party on 12/17/17 I noticed a spark where the thermostat controller plugs into the smoker. I immediately unplugged the unit and pulled the thermostat controller out. What I found was very disturbing. The right half of the controller had melted over 1/2 inch. The electric prong was fully exposed, this was causing the sparking. I use the smoker on my wooden deck. What if I had not seen the sparking? I have recently read reviews where other have had thermostat control issues. I have contacted Masterbuilt twice and have yet to receive a response. Buyer beware!!
