There's not one of us who fails to understand that a series of a dozen+ very long novels can never be literally transferred to screen -- any screen. A very great deal of the original story must be cut. Yes. We know. We get it. However, what you cut makes the difference between identifying you as a true master editor or a worthless hack. You, Amazon, are of the latter camp. But it gets worse. Not only did you cut important elements from this already perfect story but you changed what few elements remained. Let me correct that. You did not "change"; no, you butchered. These characters are nothing like the ones we know and love. They are someone, something, else. What, or who, they are, I've no idea. But they're not the characters from the books. Not in the slightest. And what you did to the story is nothing short of criminal. You couldn't even get the tiniest details right. When bringing his wounded father to the village after the Trolloc attack, Rand has no horses. All the horses fled during the trolloc attack. All he had was a litter, which he used to drag his father the many miles to the village, which was in itself an act of true bravery, love and determination. And a perfect opportunity to build up his character into someone we'd love and appreciate. Just slapping his dad on a horse was taking all the wind out of his sails. And this is just one small detail you thoroughly destroyed. This show is bad. So bad, in fact, I had to start the third episode about half a dozen times before I was able actually to get all the way through. Gods above -- just terrible. You woke idiots should be ashamed of yourselves, defiling such a wonderful, perfectly crafted story. And don't tell me the story was too long; that there was no possibility of ruining something in the process. That's nonsense. Jackson and his bunch were able to rework Lord of the Rings into a truly magnificent screenplay. You jokers could have done exactly the same, had you bothered to hire screenwriters who ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. Not just a pack of third-rate hacks who want only to fill up their pages with woke garbage, inclusivity at the expense of accuracy and utter nonsensical trash. Well, you got what you paid for: garbage. And I really can't believe anyone with any degree of self respect will continue to watch this crap. Your 10 million dollars per episode just got flushed down the gaping toilet of left wing, woke, offensive diversity politics and just plain terrible writing. Cheers!
