This is a great pencil sharpener - while it lasts. Sturdy, solid, good sharpen (little pencil twisting required for even shave). BUT . . . this thing is designed to fail after a certain time! I have returned FIVE of these sharpeners over the last 4 years. You read that right. After a little more than a year, you will sharpen a pencil, and the motor will not turn off after you remove the pencil. It will run continuously while plugged in. All five failed in exactly the same way. The fifth broke two days ago. As long as you have the receipt, you don't even have to send it back. Just fill out the form and send in the receipt and they'll send you a new one. Our office keeps sending for new ones because we are absolutely fascinated that this thing so dependably fails every single time. It's actually kind of impressive how dependable it is in this regard. Bostitch just keeps on replacing them, and leaves them on the market without a shred of pride or business sense. Just an amazing consumer experience all around.
