Not for use with computers, according to CyberPower tech support
If you need a UPS for a lamp or modem or something, this probably works fine. If you need one for a computer, don't bother. I've had it for seven months and during the three power outages I've experienced, my computer immediately shut down when the power went out. Additionally, the UPS has started shutting down on its own when I leave my computer running overnight, even with no power outage, and I arrive back at the office to a loud squealing sound and any unsaved progress lost. I called CyberPower about it, and they told me that this particular power supply should not be used for computers, particularly custom-built computers, Dell XPS models, or any computer with an environmentally-friendly power supply, because it interacts poorly with those power supplies. Since this is apparently how this UPS meant to function, CyberPower's only suggestion was that I buy a different model and use this one for a modem or something. When I suggested that they should probably include this information in their product description, the representative's response was that maybe Dell should include in their product description that their computers might not work with all UPS models instead. Stay classy, CyberPower.
