Like all Lego products their trains are fun to build, but the IR control doesn't work well at all. Lego advertises that the IR control works at distances up to 30 feet. Based on my experience with this train and several others that I have, you are lucky if you can contol a train from a distance of 3 feet. I just had this train derail, fall to the floor and break into a hundred pieces because I couldn't slow it down or stop it. I have purchased my last Lego train. Bottom line, don't believe the LEGO advertising, the IR control leaves a lot to be desired. Pictures are of the train, on the floor in pieces.
