one cheap part ruins everything
unfortunately, I only had 2 days in the field with this tripod before one of the knobs (for longitudinal rotation) made of plastic stripped. all the other knobs were made of metal but that one. after it stripped, it fell out half way on a 10 mile hike in the mountains. everything else on the tripod feels well made but now the head mount falls off without that knob to keep it in place.
