This was advertised to work on any tank type water heater. However, it will not work with water heaters with heat traps. Most modern tank type water heaters have heat traps built in. There is no mention of this in any documentation, and only discovered after I had it installed. Now I have paid for the pump, the labor to install, and now labor to uninstall. The manufacturer didn't even try to make an excuse, much less even offer an apology.
