TruConnect charges a monthly fee of $4.99 along with a usage fee. To pay for these fees, they create an account that holds funds until needed. If your account goes below a specific dollar amount, then TruConnect will charge your credit card a "top off" amount to bring the account balance up to an amount they want available to pay for your internet usage. When you cancel service with TruConnect, no matter how much money is in your account, they will not refund your unused funds. I called to cancel in less than 24 hours of the charge on my credit card and they still said they will not refund my money. There is no way to use the money in your account to get the balance to equal zero since you will always be charged a "top off" when you get below a specific dollar amount. Clearly, when you cancel service, there will be no more monthly fees or usage fees; however they claim the money in your account is for TruConnect to keep. They will not refund your extra money remaining in your account. It is like giving the cashier a $20 to pay for a $4.99 item and the cashier telling you that you may not have your change back.
